Anne-Marie Lafortune

Anne-Marie Lafortune, M. Ed., is an English as a second language teacher as well as coordinator of the intercultural center at Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles, and she is a lecturer for the Master Teacher Program at the University of Sherbrooke.
She has taught in France, South Korea and Australia. She has also done research at Lehman College in New York and worked on the impact of distance education and the Community of Inquiry.
In October 2019, thanks to Cégep International, she went to Finland to discuss pedagogy with colleagues from the University of Helsinki, and she is currently working on the adaptation of Autonomous Learning Modules (ALMs) for college courses.
She contributed to the implementation of the very first active learning classrooms (CLAAC), outdoor classroom, edible forest and Zen Space at the Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles. She obtained her yoga teacher certification in India. Anne-Marie developed the global educational network for authentic conversation, Worldchat Live Education, and she currently sits on Quebec’s Higher Education Council.
