When should you call on the Ombudsman?
When you need information
You may appeal to the Ombudsman, even if you have not exhausted normal recourses, if :
- You'd like to better understand the regulations, policies and practices of the Université de Sherbrooke;
- You need clarification of your rights and obligations as a student or member of the university community;
- You would like to find out more about the role of the ombudsman.
When you feel your rights have been violated or you've suffered an injustice
Before asking the Ombudsman to intervene, it is essential to exhaust all internals recourses.
Here are some examples of steps you can take :
Talk to the person concerned to try to resolve the situation.

Your faculty secretary is responsible for managing your student file and applying institutional and faculty regulations. You can consult this contact person for information on the recourses available to you.
