Bastien Castagneyrol

Bastien Castagneyrol is a researcher at INRAE (France) where he studies the relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. He is particularly interested in the ecological mechanisms of forest resistance to biotic stressors. His research combines observational and experimental approaches with meta-analyses and citizen science. He coordinates a European citizen science project where professionnal scientists collaborate with schoolchildren to study the effects of global change (including warming and urbanization) on the mechanims of tree resistance to insect herbivores.
