Project Description
We are looking for postdoctoral fellows, graduate students (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) and interns to work on a project studying new methods of RNA preservation and stability. We are working in partnership with a private company to develop a new patent. Therefore, there will be an opportunity to interact and network with the private sector. We have already obtained a wealth of promising preliminary data that will be the basis for a couple of research papers in the coming year. Following are the qualifications that we require in potential candidates for these positions. Postdoctoral fellows 1. Experience working with nucleic acids 2. Cell culture 3. Flow cytometry (an asset) 4. Data analysis 5. Manuscript writing experience (essential) 6. Ability to work with mice Graduate students (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) 1. Understanding of contemporary techniques in molecular biology 2. Demonstrate evidence of critical thinking Undergraduate students 1. Motivation 2. Enthusiasm One of the most important requirements for all candidates is to be able to integrate into the existing lab team and keep a positive and cheerful atmosphere. Financing: M.Sc. students can expect to receive a scholarship of at least 20,000$/year, Ph.D. students can expect at least 23,000$/year, and postdoctoral fellows can expect at least 40,000$/year.
