Parc Innovation-ACELP
As a partner of excellence in innovation for over half a century, the Université de Sherbrooke created the first university innovation park in Quebec in 2007.
The Parc Innovation-ACELP encourages the regional, national, and international R&D science initiative by supporting the interaction and synergy of cutting-edge research and industry development specialists.
The Parc Innovation-ACELP promotes strategic alliances with private and governmental research centres, which aim to propel their R&D activities through partnerships with the Université de Sherbrooke's research teams.
An Exceptional Research Environment
Created with sustainable development in mind, the Parc Innovation-ACELP facilitates access for postgraduate students to state-of-the-art equipment. It provides them with an exceptional framework for fundamental and applied research. Private businesses and government organizations are forging solid research partnerships with professors in the university’s fields of expertise. Thus, all resources are combined for potential innovation. With a surface area of 500 000 m2, the Parc Innovation-ACELP can accommodate between 25 and 30 research centres. Currently, the Centre de technologies avancées (CTA) BRP–Université de Sherbrooke, the Interdisciplinary Institute for Technological Innovation (3IT), the Scale-up Centre, and the Solar Park are established in the Parc Innovation-ACELP. The Université de Sherbrooke’s Parc Innovation-ACELP is recognized by the prestigious International Association of Science Parks (IASP), which includes some 400 members distributed across 73 countries.
Meeting of Knowledge
The research centres established in the Parc Innovation-ACELP generate sizable effects on research development, the academic training environment, and the transfer of knowledge and technologies. As a renowned environment of excellence, these centres align their research activities with the university’s research priorities. They thus create a science, technology, and transfer capital of exceptional value.

Tax Credit Programs
The governments of Quebec and Canada grant significant tax credits on amounts invested by research and development companies.
The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program is a federal tax incentive program designed to encourage Canadian companies of all sizes and from all sectors carrying out research and development in Canada. Administered by the Canada Revenue Agency, the program is the most significant source of support from the federal government for industrial R&D. As part of the SR&ED program, applicants can obtain reimbursements or tax credits for admissible work in R&D carried out in Canada. On the Quebec side, highly profitable tax credits for science and experimental development research are also accessible.
