Performance, Hydration and Thermoregulation Laboratory
This laboratory of the Faculty of Physical Activity Sciences allows researchers to form a bridge between the knowledge acquired in the laboratory and its specific use in the field.
The various available equipment helps them analyze and understand problematics in order to provide solutions that could be used by athletes, trainers, and health professionals.
Specifically, the research team is evaluating the following:
- The impact of hypohydration on fluid balance, physiological function, and endurance performance or endurance capacity.
- The impact of hyperhydration on fluid balance, physiological function, and endurance performance or endurance capacity.
- The effect of thirst-driven fluid intake on fluid balance, physiological function, and endurance performance or endurance capacity.
- The impact of hypohydration on muscle quality.
- The influence of using different measurement tools and analysis techniques on sweat sodium concentration.
- The factors influencing measurement of body temperature using a telemetric pill.
