Mobility Assessment based on Wearables

Outstanding candidates with a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related fields are invited to apply for a Postdoctoral Fellowship overseen by the Research Centre of the Montreal Geriatric Institute and the Engineering Faculty of the University of Sherbrooke. French speaking is an asset, but English is commonly used in the lab. The applicant must have excellent skills in time series analysis and machine learning. The tenure will occur under the primary supervision of Pr. Karina Lebel at the University of Sherbrooke with co-supervision by Pr. Christian Duval at the Research Centre of the Montreal Geriatric Institute. The fellow will work with an interdisciplinary team as well as international collaborators to develop a wearable sensor platform for the assessment of symptoms and function of people living with Parkinson’s disease. This fellowship provides an opportunity to engage in research in the areas of activity detection, symptom estimation, Parkinson’s disease, and wearable technology. Outstanding candidates will be asked to apply for postdoctoral fellowships (bursaries) to provincial and federal funding agencies in early October 2021. We will provide funding for one year, starting in March 2021. If the applicant is successful, the tenure can be extended for two more years.
