Application submission

Two competitions are held each year. The Université de Sherbrooke Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship Program welcomes applications during the following periods:

  • from February 1st to March 1st at 11:59 pm (winter competition) and
  • from August 1st to September 1st at 11:59 pm (fall competition)

Before submitting your application to the Université de Sherbrooke Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship Program, please read the program guidelines and make sure you are eligible.

Graduate programs offered at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

When the master's or doctoral program for which a scholarship is requested is offered at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, the application submitted under the Université de Sherbrooke Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship Program will also be evaluated under the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Graduate Scholarship Program.

Application procedure

Here is the procedure to follow if you wish to submit an application to the Université de Sherbrooke Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship Program, which consists of two types of scholarships: the Université de Sherbrooke Research Excellence Scholarships and the Laurent and Claire B. Beaudoin Excellence Scholarships.

The application submission procedure is simplified: everything is centralized in one place!

Applications not complying with the guidelines below will be considered inadmissible. The forms and application files are updated for each competition. Applications submitted with old versions of these files will not be considered. The application form with the attached PDF file must be submitted before the competition deadline. Applications received after this date will not be considered. No updates are allowed after the submission deadline. A student may only apply once for a master's scholarship and once for a doctoral scholarship. Refer to the Université de Sherbrooke Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship Program Guidelines for detailed information. 

The applications must be submitted using the electronic formA single PDF file, with a maximum size of 10 MB, containing the following documents, in this specified order, must be attached to the application form during the application submission:

  1. The duly completed application file which includes the research project presentation and the applicants’ abbreviated research experience;
  2. All official university transcripts (with the institution’s seal), including the transcript issued for the diploma serving as the basis for admission in the graduate program;
  3. Proofs, certificates, editors’ notices or confirmation emails for publications and communications required in the application file;
  4. Proof of awards and scholarships;
  5. The commitment form, signed by all parties. A research direction must have been determined at the time of application for all master's and doctoral programs, with the exception of programs offered at the School of Management;
  6. Only for applicants whose master's or doctoral program is offered at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences commitment form, duly completed and signed;

  7. Any additional documents deemed important to support the application.
